Balsa Bridge Building Contest

The Notre Dame Balsa Bridge Building Contest, which has been running for 26 years, is coming up soon. The contest consists of grade 11 and 12 made bridges which cannot be made of any materials other than balsa and glue, and may not exceed 100g.

The current recordholder, Matthew Sullivan, entered a bridge which held up 209.4kg (461lbs). Each year students strive to shatter the record.

This year we have a record amount of organizations sponsoring the contest, some of which include:

APEG, BCIT, UBC, SFU, Microsoft, and Buckland Taylor.

More info about the contest can be found here: http://www.balsabridge.com/
